Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Reporting to the VP, Media Relations, the Coordinator, Media Relations plays a key support role on the communications team, with a focus on media relations, daily media monitoring, competitive research, and internal coordination. This individual will also be responsible for managing schedules, updating databases, organizing team logistics, and helping maintain smooth operational workflows.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to grow in the field of media communications. They must be a proactive communicator, resourceful problem-solver, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support external communications efforts across the team
- Continuous monitoring of all press clippings – spanning all print/online to TV/audio – related to the company and the industry each day
- Compile daily clips for executives and talent
- Assist with the coordination and drafting of media materials including press releases, fact sheets, talking points, and executive memos
- Regularly update media lists and databases to ensure timely communication and accurate distribution
- Coordinate logistics and scheduling for interviews, press briefings, and internal team meetings
- Track media inquiries, coverage, and placements, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting
- Draft and edit media materials including press releases, media alerts, talking points, briefing documents, and internal memos
- Assist department on research projects, transcribing interviews and other assigned press projects
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in communications, public relations, or media
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with media monitoring platforms and media industry databases such as MuckRack is a plus

- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
