A “Day in the Life” of the Logistics & Supply Chain Specialist
As our Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist, you'll play a critical role in keeping our fast-growing operation running smoothly. You’ll be the point person for tracking inventory, placing purchase orders, and helping ensure that we have the right products in the right place at the right time. A typical day might include reviewing inventory levels across 200+ SKUs, placing time-sensitive orders with a variety of vendors, and identifying trends or issues that could impact our fulfillment timelines. You'll work closely with our operations team to ensure products move efficiently through the supply chain—and as we grow, this role could evolve into one that manages vendor relationships and drives continuous improvement across sourcing, logistics, and inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across 200+ SKUs, ensuring stock levels align with demand
- Place and track purchase orders with 20+ vendors, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery
- Maintain accurate records of orders, shipments, and vendor performance
- Communicate regularly with vendors regarding lead times, order changes, and delivery issues
- Collaborate with operations to identify shortages, overages, and forecasting needs
- Help evaluate current suppliers and identify opportunities for cost savings or performance improvements
- Support the transition from a legacy system or process as we upgrade this role
- Recommend tools or process improvements to streamline supply chain operations
- Ensure data accuracy in purchasing, inventory management, and ERP systems
- Additional responsibilities as needed
