Hirewell is partnering with a private investment firm to help identify an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) who will support a diverse portfolio of companies across industries like healthcare, logistics, infrastructure, manufacturing, and consumer services. This firm works closely with executive teams to drive growth, improve operational performance, and navigate change. The HRBP will play a key role in shaping people strategies and supporting leadership within these fast-paced, evolving businesses.
Role Summary
The HR Business Partner will serve as a strategic consultant to both the investment team and portfolio company leaders. This includes advising on executive hiring, talent development, HR compliance, and organizational design. The role requires someone with a strong generalist foundation and a consultative approach who can operate confidently across a variety of industries and business stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the investment team and portfolio leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
- Lead and support executive-level recruiting efforts, including selection of search partners, reviewing contracts, and evaluating candidates.
- Guide succession planning and leadership development initiatives across the portfolio.
- Support org design, workforce planning, and leadership transitions at portfolio companies.
- Provide strategic counsel on employee relations, performance issues, and policy interpretation.
- Help ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies, identifying and mitigating risk.
- Participate in HR due diligence for potential investments, providing insights into compensation, benefits, org structure, and integration plans.
- Use HR data and insights to influence decision-making and improve people-related outcomes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of HR experience, including at least 4 in a strategic HRBP or consulting role
- Experience supporting high-growth or private equity-backed businesses is a plus
- Strong communication, consulting, and organizational skills
- Ability to operate with discretion, think strategically, and provide practical guidance
- Confident navigating ambiguity and working across multiple stakeholder groups
