The Human Resource (HR) Generalist is responsible for overseeing HR operations across Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. and Guardian Staffing Solutions, LLC. This dynamic role involves managing HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Generalist will work closely with the leadership team to ensure that HR strategies align with organizational goals, while promoting a positive work environment and addressing the needs of employees.

Responsibilities
HR Leadership and Strategy:
- Oversee HR operations across multiple customers, ensuring consistent and compliant HR practices in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization’s goals and culture.
- Collaborate with facility leadership teams to identify staffing needs, support employee retention initiatives, and drive employee engagement.
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:
- Lead the recruitment process for positions within our customer base, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
- Partner with department heads, Senior Managers, and hiring managers to ensure timely and effective recruitment of qualified candidates.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization and compliance with all onboarding requirements.
- Develop recruitment strategies to attract top talent, including attending career fairs, where appropriate and creating partnerships with local institutions.
- Assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures and assists in the maintenance of the employee handbook and employee resource center.
HR Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, including personnel files, benefits information, and employee performance data.
- Prepare and present HR reports to senior leadership, tracking key metrics such as turnover, recruitment success, and employee satisfaction.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and develop strategies to improve HR processes and overall employee experience.
Training and Development:
- Coordinate and deliver HR-related training sessions for managers and employees on topics such as compliance, leadership, and performance management.
- Identify opportunities for professional development within the region and work with facility leadership to create career paths for employees.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and development by encouraging participation in training and educational opportunities.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees within the company, addressing employee concerns and resolving issues related to performance, behavior, or workplace conflicts.
- Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters in compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting effective communication and collaboration among staff.
- Administer and oversee leave of absences, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining accurate records, supporting team members throughout the leave period, and partnering with managers to facilitate smooth transitions during absences.
Employee Benefits and Compensation
- Administer employee benefits programs, such as workers compensation, employee leave programs, and other benefits administration in compliance with applicable laws.
- Coordinate the annual compensation and bonus review process, ensuring seamless execution.
Performance Management:
- Oversee the performance appraisal process for all employees within the region, providing guidance to managers on setting goals, conducting evaluations, and addressing performance issues.
- Provide coaching and support to managers in handling employee performance challenges, offering solutions for improvement and development.
- Identify training and development needs within the company, implementing programs to enhance employee skills and leadership abilities.
Compliance and Policy Enforcement:
- Ensure that all HR policies and practices within the company comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws and industry regulations, ensuring that the organization is in full compliance.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures consistently throughout the company.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, coordinating with legal counsel as necessary.
- Coordinate compliance training programs, including Sexual Harassment Prevention and other mandatory workplace training.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in human resources, with experience in construction, healthcare, and manufacturing are all a plus. Previous management experience in recruiting systems, processes and procedure required.
- Previous experience in the technical staffing industry or a related industry is preferred, but not required
- Work experience in a technical environment such as construction, manufacturing or general industry and/or formal technical training is strongly recommended
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external Specialists
- Ability to plan, organize and schedule workflow to meet rigid project deadlines
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Publisher, PPT)
- Must pass a criminal and Federal background check
