NOTE - This is a part-time, contract-based position.
Job Description:
The UX/UI Designer balances user-centered research and intuitive, visually polished interface design. This role flexes between UX research and UI design execution based on project needs and works closely with product and engineering partners to ground decisions in data and user feedback. The Product Designer will contribute to design systemdevelopment and collaborate across teams to deliver thoughtful, scalable, and effective product experiences.
Duties:
- Shift fluidly between UX research and UI design based on project needs, contributing effectively to all phases of the product development lifecycle.
- Conduct user interviews, usability tests, and surveys to gather actionable insights that inform design decisions.
- Create high-quality wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs that are visually appealing, intuitive, and user-centered.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet business goals and user needs.
- Use user feedback and analytics to iterate on designs and improve the overall user experience.
- Contribute to and maintain a design system that supports consistency and scalability across the product.
- Actively participate in agile development processes and team collaboration sessions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with demonstrated strength in both user research and visual design.
- Strong ability to conduct user research, including interviews, usability testing, and surveys, and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Proficient in Figma; experience with design systems and component libraries.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience working closely with stakeholders and engineering teams in agile environments.
- Ability to leverage analytics and user feedback to make informed design decisions and iterate solutions.
- Creative in solving design challenges, with an understanding of how to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Experience working with or contributing to a design system to maintain consistency and scalability across platforms.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates both UI design and UX research skills, with clear examples of user-centered design solutions
- Experience with Jira
- Experience with FigJam, Miro or similar collaboration tools
- Experience in agile environments and working closely with development teams to iterate on designs
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
- Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Hotjar and Mixpanel) to inform design decisions (preferred).
