Who You Are:
You’re a highly organized and results-driven Outbound Transportation Manager ready to join a dynamic supply chain team at Capri (Michael Kors/Jimmy Choo/Versace). This role is responsible for managing and optimizing our outbound transportation network to ensure the timely, cost-effective delivery of products to our retail stores, wholesale partners, and other distribution channels across North America. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of transportation logistics within the consumer, retail and/or fashion industry.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee daily outbound transportation operations from distribution centers to retail stores, wholesale customers and consumers via full truckloads, pool deliveries, less than truckload, and parcel
- Develop and execute transportation strategies to optimize carrier performance, reduce freight costs, and improve pick up and delivery reliability.
- Collaborate with planning, distribution, customer service and retail operations teams to ensure alignment of transportation activities with broader supply chain goals.
- Lead carrier management through routine monitoring of carrier KPIs and scorecards related to on-time and in-full pick up and delivery, adherence to contracts rates, safety, overage, shortage and damages
- Support Procurement while negotiating freight contracts, and developing value-driven relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers with the ultimate goal of providing best-in-class service to Capri and its brands
- Leverage historical data and forecasts to identify opportunities to improve cost, service and process. Develop plans that can target opportunities in an agile manner. Track actions to ensure plans are being executed in a timely manner and achieving goals
- Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and international shipping regulations as applicable.
- Lead initiatives to improve shipment visibility, implement new technology/tools, and enhance overall supply chain responsiveness.
- Support seasonal planning, promotional launches, and peak volume periods by ensuring scalable transportation solutions.
- Troubleshoot delivery issues, resolve transportation-related service failures, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Track and report key transportation metrics to senior leadership.
You’ll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in outbound transportation, preferably in retail, fashion, or consumer goods.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), freight auditing, and route optimization tools.
- Proven experience managing carrier networks, including parcel (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, Lasership), LTL, FTL, and intermodal.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
We’d Love to See:
- Experience working with high-volume seasonal shipping cycles and promotional event logistics.
- Proficiency in systems such as SAP and Manhattan Associates.
- Experience using industry leading Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Experience with D2L and GMT.
- Experience with Freight Payment and Audit.
