SUMMARY:
USAM DC, a high-end architectural millwork firm base in Northern VA, is looking for a Shipping Manager in Manassas, VA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for consistently meeting shipping deadlines.
- Communicates, prioritizes, and coordinates delivery requests with Project Managers, Logistics & Facilities Manager, Plant Manager, field team, and drivers daily.
- Oversee quality control and completion of shipments
- Provide Shipping team and drivers with correct paperwork for each delivery and verify it against items for complete shipments
- Ensure drivers submit signed paperwork along with photos of each delivery
- Upload signed paperwork and delivery photos into job folders
- Manages company vehicles, drivers, in-house shipping team, and deliveries
- Coordinates maintenance, repairs, and inspections of all company vehicles
- Supervise and assist with wrapping, labelling, verifying paperwork and loading product for daily morning deliveries as needed
- Maintains the Shipping department clean and always organized
- Work with Purchasing Manager to order shipping supplies and tools as needed
- Coordinate with the Receiving team to acquire project specific hardware and supplies for deliveries and assist with occasional inbound or outbound vendor deliveries and out of town project deliveries.
- Assist drivers with driving a box truck.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
- Experience managing/supervising employees
- 2 years’ experience in millwork or relatable experience
- Excellent communication skills and customer service are essential
- Strong time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and handle competing demands.
- Self-driven with the ability to independently complete daily tasks and requirements.
- Proficiency using MS Office suite
- Experience with driving a box truck
- DOT Certification.
- Certify to operate a forklift
Preferred Education and Skills (in addition to the required):
- High school diploma or GED
- Background in construction or manufacturing
