About the Role:
Job Title: AI Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and recommend advanced AI/ML frameworks and systems that support enterprise-grade applications.
- Lead prototyping of AI/ML concepts and MVPs to validate solutions before full-scale development.
- Architect and contribute to the implementation of scalable cloud-based AI infrastructures.
- Develop and maintain robust, high-throughput data pipelines that serve as the foundation for AI systems.
- Build low-latency APIs and backend services to integrate models seamlessly with products.
- Implement real-time monitoring and alerting systems to track AI performance and model drift.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers on ML methodologies and best practices.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and peer reviews.
- Maintain clear, consistent technical documentation adhering to internal policies and industry standards.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to translate business needs into AI-driven solutions with measurable value.
- Serve as a thought leader on AI strategy, tooling, infrastructure, and governance.
- Engage with the broader AI community within the organization to share knowledge and promote best practices.
- Stay current with developments in AI technologies, methodologies, and ethical standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in developing and deploying AI/ML systems.
- An advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) or AI-specific certifications may substitute for up to 2 years of industry experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- 6+ years developing deep learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLX, JAX, or equivalent.
- Strong software engineering background with at least 3 years’ experience in container orchestration and microservices.
- Experience implementing ethical and explainable AI, fairness algorithms, and bias mitigation techniques.
- Hands-on expertise with prompt engineering, including advanced techniques like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Tree of Thoughts (ToT), and Multimodal Chain-of-Thought (CoT) prompting.
- Proven leadership in prompt engineering projects, code reviews, and establishing internal standards.
- 4+ years of experience building and scaling data pipelines and monitoring systems for production AI.
- Minimum of 5 years working in agile or cross-functional teams.
Location: Seattle, WA
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $140,000 – $150,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
