Overview

Level Studios is looking for a Digital Designer to join our team on a temporary basis!

You will work in close collaboration with a multi-disciplinary client delivery team to design visual assets for delivery across a variety of digital channels. While you will work in partnership with UX teams and will need to be well-versed in the UX process, this is specifically a visual design role and your focus will be on building the visual assets associated with a variety of digital projects.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a 40hr/wk contract role with an expected total duration of 3-4 months. Extension beyond that timeframe and/or conversion into a fulltime role is possible but not anticipated.

ALSO NOTE: This is a hybrid role and will require onsite engagement an average of 3 days/week. Candidates local to the Chicago market will be prioritized but highly qualified candidates in other markets may also be considered.

You live and breathe visual design and your true love exists at the intersection of logic and beauty. Design systems and interface designs are your jam but you don't limit yourself and want to dabble in all things design including web, mobile, ecommerce, motion, illustration, and/or brand work.
You possess outstanding communication skills and are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively... but you aren't afraid to ask questions or receive feedback.
You’re comfortable partnering with UX teams and understand the power of a logical, intuitive, intelligently-designed user experience that helps customers accomplish their tasks quickly and efficiently, but also know how to integrate beautiful design and balance beauty with functionality.
You love to stay on top of the latest design trends, strategies, and technologies as well as how competitors within the industry are doing things.
You are nimble and able to adjust to constantly shifting needs and priorities. Above all, you bring joy and passion to your work and to the team around you.

Qualifications

There is no specific educational requirement for this role
3-5 years of professional design experience with a focus on digital visual and/or UI design, preferably in an advertising agency environment
Experience with visual design across a variety of digital channels including UI, iconography, hand/digital illustration, storyboarding, motion, branding, ecommerce, .com. mobile, responsive web, typography, and/or similar deliverables
Experience with production design work including sourcing imagery, cutting/slicing assets, editing and retouching photos, assembling and combining images, etc.
Proficient with standard and specialized design tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Invision, PowerPoint, and/or similar tools.
An understanding of the fundamentals of user experience design
Prior experience working alongside UX teams to design visual assets to be included as part of a holistic, functional user experience
Experience working within existing design systems
Comfort self-organizing your work and time, seeking direction when needed
Curiosity for (or deep immersion in) the technology of modern experiences
A portfolio or work samples showcasing beautiful, modern digital design is REQUIRED and should be included at time of application; more sensitive work may be shared by PDF or via Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar repository rather than in a public portfolio. Please provide password if needed.

Compensation Range: $43-$65/hr. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
