ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER (MULTIPLE OPENINGS). Griggs Mitchell & Alma of IL, LLC d/b/a GMA Construction Group seeks Assistant Project Managers in Chicago, IL to be responsible for the management, supervision, coordination and completion of construction projects to meet time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding and contract administration functions; under direction, responsible for development and implementation of an assigned project. Duties include: take ownership of project life cycle to execute delivery, including implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously; manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure overall program supports achievement of strategic objectives; serve as point of contact for project construction administration; define project scope and objectives and develop work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons; inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with regulations, and building and safety codes; conduct project meetings and track and analyze project progression; implement new or modified plans in response to delays; confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems; ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables; provide on-site leadership for project team; direct and supervise construction and related workers, often in outdoor weather conditions and cold, hot, wet/humid, high, and/or confined spaces; prepare contracts or negotiate contract revisions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors; prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports; report on project success metrics, test and deployment management activities. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related field. Must have knowledge of estimating, scheduling, budgeting and cost control, field supervision, financial reporting, contract negotiation, and safety and insurance for the construction industry. Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license. Travel required to work sites within the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN-WI MSA. Salary: $77,300 to $110,000 per year.
