Data Scientist

Location: New York, NY (On-site, 5 days per week)

Compensation: $120k – $160k base salary + 0.25% – 0.5% equity

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team and work at the intersection of data and engineering. In this role, you will leverage statistical analysis, machine learning, and experimentation to uncover fraud and assess labor risk. The ideal candidate brings a strong problem-solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and hands-on technical expertise.

Experience in fraud detection, risk modeling, identity mapping, or entity resolution is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Design and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to detect fraudulent patterns.
Analyze large-scale datasets to generate actionable insights for both internal operations and customer-facing applications.
Partner with leadership, engineering, and product teams to align data initiatives with broader business goals.
Deploy data science solutions into production in close collaboration with engineering teams.
Shape the intelligence layer of the platform through experimentation, model evaluation, and applied analytics.
